The Voice of GMUK invites you and your friends to an academic getaway where you can explore the arts, architecture, and Korean theme parks! South Korea holds monthly festivals that are famous for their cultural experiences, natural beauty, and excitement. Here are some of the events that you should visit this November!


The Arts and Culture

  • The Night View of Gyeongbokgung Palace

Take a walk and admire the beauty of Seoul’s Gyeongbokgung Palace! Built during the Joseon Dynasty in 1395, it remains one of South Korea’s most iconic historical symbols and cultural landmarks. As the largest palace in South Korea, it is perceived as one of the popular tourist sites. So, embrace the Korean culture by wearing a traditional Korean hanbok and spreading cultural awareness! This biannual event is currently ongoing from September 1st to November 6th between 19:00-21:30 (the last tickets for sale are at 20:30). General admission to the palace is ₩3,000. Still, admission is free if you wear a traditional hanbok (rentals are between ₩10,000 to ₩30,000). The address is Gyeongbokgung Palace (161, Sajik-ro, Jonson-gu, Seoul).   • Art Yard where Culture Flows

Watch and listen to musical performances from singers, musicians, and dancers in the Seoul area! The Art Yard Where Culture Flows Festival is held on Nodeul Island, which is located on the Han River. Directly above you is the Hangang Bridge! The Art Yard Where Culture Flows event is an eight-months production from May 28th to December 31st . The address is 445 Yangnyeong-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. For transportation, you can use Subway 9 to Nodeul Station and get off at Exit 2. It is best to plan ahead! Halloween Festivals in Amusement Parks

  • Everland

Located in Yongin, Everland is South Korea’s largest amusement park! The park has many attractions ranging from rollercoasters, haunted mazes, parades—even a night safari to meet animals! Everland has five uniquely-themed amusement parks: Global Fair, American Adventure, European Adventure, Magic Land, and Zootopia. Ticket prices may vary: 1 Day tickets are ₩54,000 (Adult) and ₩43,000 (Child)/Night tickets are ₩45,000 (Adult) and ₩36,000 (Child). Park hours also vary from 10:00 to 23:00. One of the many recommended routes to the park is Technopark Station to Campus Town Station by train and Campus Town Station to Citizen’s Forest.   • Everland Blood City 6: Express 199

Experience a fun, spooky night at Everland’s Blood City 6: Express 199, where you can dress up with your friends, eat food, and meet all kinds of monsters! The festival consists of a haunted T-Express 199 ride, Horror Maze (₩10,000 for groups of four to six), and Everland’s very own Horror Village. The festival runs from September 8th to November 20th! Please check the Everland website to see if any attractions must be reserved beforehand, and be aware that the attraction schedule is subject to change without pre-notice.


  • Everland: The Halloween Night Safari Team

Spot the animals around you on Everland’s special Halloween Night Safari, where you and other passengers are invited to ride the safari and watch the animals roam. This event is explicitly themed based on Halloween, so don’t miss this opportunity! Tickets are ₩15,000 per person, so find these exotic animals from September 23rd to November 13th at Everland!

  • Lotte World

Lotte World, the world’s largest indoor theme park, has various attractions to entertain you and your friends! From its outdoor park called “Magic Island” to the artificial island, Lotte World is a great place to spend your day. Ticket prices may vary but generally start at ₩59,000 for adults and ₩52,000 for children. Park hours are from 10:00 to 21:00. The amusement park is located in Seoul at 240 Olympic-ro Songpa-Gu, Seoul— near the Lotte World Tower! Not only is Lotte World perfect for a regular day at an amusement park, but also holiday-based attractions like the Lotte World Horror Halloween event!   • Lotte World Horror Halloween: The Expansion
