On October 7th, ECON students secured the Fall 2024 Majorlympics win, narrowly defeating the Conflict Analysis and Resolution (CONF) team by just one point.
The Student Government planned event, hosted by Student Body President Sherlin Amaya Medranoto, united students and faculty for a day of fun competition.
Beyond the competition, this event was a unique way to let students build new connections with each other, both inside and outside of their majors. “Madison Sailakkham, a Conflict Analysis and Resolution student who participated in the event, stated, 'The Majorlympics is a wonderful opportunity to promote school spirit across majors.'"
Alongside the games, a cheering contest gave teams the chance to earn more points. Conflict Analysis and Resolution won the contest twice, using loud cheers and inflatable sticks, earning their team an extra 25 points. Finally, in the game that would decide it all, ECON used their speed in the relay race to win with a time of 56.10 seconds, surpassing CONF.
Dodgeball: ECON CONF GAME (30 points)
Tug of War: BUS ECON GAME (30 points)
Relay Race: ECON (56.10 seconds)
