At the 2022 IGC Project Symposium, participating students gave presentations in the given booths, explaining meaningful findings in their research, and having a Q-and-A session with their guests. Besides, presenters had opportunities to get feedback and helpful ideas from the judges of the symposium, consisting of professors.
One of the participants from GMUK (BUS, ‘25) shared her thoughts, “While conducting the research, I was able to learn how to write and analyze a research paper, which would be helpful for a further study.” She also quoted, “participating in a project symposium is recommendable to students who want to conduct their own research with peers.”
Many students showed their enthusiasm as young scholars, and in response to that, the team from GMUK got awarded the President of Foundation Award for the research of ‘Examining various aspects of female victims in terms of war experiences and sexual violence.’ Meanwhile, Ghent University Global Campus and University of Utah Asia Campus received two prizes, and SUNY Korea was awarded a prize.
Incheon Global Campus expects more students to engage in academic study through the project symposium, which will be held annually. Pyung Ryun Yu, the president of the IGC Foundation, stated, “The IGC Project Symposium is a unique joint research event only for the extended global campus, where prestigious foreign universities are gathered; thus, we plan to expand support for such joint activities on campus for future scholars.”
